Russell Mens Lowcut 3 Pack Socks (Color: White; Size: One Size) received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review. These white with light grey accents Russell Mens Lowcut socks are very comfortable. They fit sizes 6 to 12, but seem to shrink up a bit after a wash and dry cycle – making them a tad tight for my size 12’s. The manufacturer states that these socks feature Dri-Power 360 and breathable mesh ventilation to help keep feet drier – which did seem to keep my feet nice and cool and never clammy. Russell also states that socks have a compression arch support – which was noticeable upon donning the socks – the arch support was very comfortable on the feet! Russell also states the socks have zone cushioning for shock absorption in key areas of the foot – these areas would be the heel of your foot as well as the ball of the foot – just behind your toes. This padding and cushioning was noticeable to the touch of your hand – and was much appreciated by your feet as well! Sock care instruction states to wash them inside out without chorine bleach in cold water, and they are made of an 89% poly, 9% cotton, 2% spandex fabric. Overall – these are a great pair of socks and I’d highly recommend them – especially for the price ! However – I’d recommend going up to the Big & Tall size socks for those with size 12 feet, like me! available at Walmart - http://www.walmart.com/ip/Russell-Mens-Lowcut-3-Pack-Socks/43938793 Russell Mens Big & Tall 3 Pair Packages Low Cut Socks (Color: BKGBK; Size: 13-15) received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review. These black with light grey accents Russell Mens Lowcut Big & Tall socks are very comfortable. Air Hogs Fury Jump Jet R/C Helicopter
received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review. The Air Hogs Fury Jump Jet R/C Helicopter came well secured in a box, and was easy to remove with cutting a few pieces of tape. The R/C controller takes 4 AA batteries, which insert into the back after pushing in a button on the back to remove the battery compartment door. You then plug the cord attached to the outside of the R/C controller into the bottom of the jet/helicopter and let it charge for around 15 minutes, until the green light goes off on the jet/helicopter, and you are fully charged to fly. Controls are left/right, throttle control, and a button to transform from helicopter to jet mode. Flying is better designed to occur outside as indoors is just too small unless you are in a gymnasium. The helicopter/jet is built of foam and plastic and withstood several crashes. My 9 year old son took to flying this quite well, and it will easily and readily reach at least 50’ into the air and fly at least 50 yards away from you. Start your flight by leaving the Air Hogs Fury Jump Jet R/C Helicopter in helicopter mode set on the ground – then transform to jet mode to really move through the skies. Expect around 30 minutes of use after each recharge. Recommended as Ages 8 and up, and I’ve gotta concur with that! This is a much better toy than the original helicopters that came our years ago – maintaining flight is a lot easier – and you spend a lot more time in the air than trying to launch it. It’s great to be able to use it outside too! Overall – a very good recommendation here for kids 8+! You won’t be disappointed with the ability to get this Air Hogs Fury Jump Jet R/C Helicopter in the air and flying! Air Hogs Star Wars Remote Control X-Wing Starfighter received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review. Unboxing the Air Hogs Star Wars Remote Control X-Wing Starfighter was simple – cut or untie one cord ,and unscrew 2 plastic pieces (about a ¼ turn) on the bottom of the box. The R/C controller takes 6 AA batteries, which are accessible through the battery compartment door with 2 phillips screws. The R/C controller has a left/right controller, and a throttle controller. The box also includes 4 plastic pieces that are the laser guns typical to the X-Wing figher – but are for looks only – and the fine print states DO NOT TRY TO FLY WITH THESE ATTACHED!! The X-Wing Starfighter is mostly made of foam – with some plastic. The charging cord is located in the lower right corner of the top of the R/C controller and attaches to the bottom front of the X-wing fighter. Expect about 15 minutes to charge and around 30 minutes of use. There is a large flashing charging symbol on the top of the R/C controller that stops flashing once you are fully charged. Manufacturer recommendation is ages 10 and up – and my 11 year old did do better with this than my 9 year old. Flights seemed best when the X-wing fighter was tossed like a paper airplane into the wind – although we were only able to successfully fly in straight flights of about 50 yards. Outdoor use only with this toy! A tip/corner of one of the X-wing fighter’s foam wings did break off on us – so we were a bit disappointed it wasn’t more resilient. The propellers are embedded into the wings – which is a unique cool feature of the Air Hogs Star Wars Remote Control X-Wing Starfighter and it really looks like the ones in the movies! Overall – we recommend the Air Hogs Star Wars Remote Control X-Wing Starfighter for ages 10+, especially for those Star Wars fans out there! Pie Face Game received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review. What a fun game for the whole family. I swear this game had it out for me – as I was pied each and every turn I took. But lets back up – assembly is pretty easy – just push 2 handles into the size of the game device, insert the face shield mask with cut out, insert the chin rest, and finally the pie throwing arm (seems like this should have the concave cupped part going towards your face – but it doesn’t, also – the hand differs from the picture on the box). Then – either use the supplied sponge with water soaking it or apply a dab of whipped cream – and you’re ready to play. Each player spins the dial to see how many clicks to take on their turn. If you spin a 3 – click the handles 3 times by rotating the handle, corresponding to the number you just spun on the dial. Hillarity, fun, and laughter will ensue! Guaranteed to take the grump off of any face playing or even watching! My 9 & 11 year old sons couldn’t get enough of this game. Just supply your own whipped cream and you’re ready to play! Fun for just about any age 4 and up!! Overall – I highly recommend this fun family game. It might get tedious after awhile – but you will have fun with it before that. The pie throwing device seemed completely random too – you never know when it’ll go off! The rules of the game state the one who scores 25 points wins (you get 1 point for each click without being pied) but we didn’t play that way Meccano Meccanoid G15 KS Robot received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review. Meccano is just like the old erector sets from the 50’s – 70’s, except all the pieces are not plastic instead of metal. The Meccanoid G15 KS Personal Robot arrived in a box about 1.5’ x 2.5’ and weighing around 16 lbs. The inside of the box is nicely divided into separate compartments and separate bags of pieces, nuts, bolts, and electronics. Unfortunately – none of these bags are numbered like lego does – indicating which bag to open when – and what parts are utilized at different stages of the build. There are approximately 1,200 parts necessary to construct Meccanoid the robot. When finished – it is a great accomplishment – and it stands around 4’ tall. It took me and my 2 sons (off and on at times) over the course of 4 days and a total of around 10 hours to finish the Meccanoid G15 KS Personal Robot. Expect your times to be anywhere from 8-12 hours depending upon your level of constructing expertise and how many times you make errors – necessitating you take apart what you just did – then reconstructing it to get it right. The instructions leave a lot to desire and are downright confusing at times – I highly recommend going to the Meccano website to follow along in the videos for construction assistance during your build. The bolts and nuts are tiny. Some spots are downright impossible to get adult sized fingers into to complete a particular portion of the project. The Meccanoid G15 KS Personal Robot is the larger of the 2 Meccanoid robots, featuring a total of 10 motors and around twice the size of the smaller one. Some of the parts are exactly the same – just different colors – so be careful to keep an eye on that – although it doesn’t matter if you swap color pieces in the end. As other reviewers have stated – the LIM mode is the best functioning aspect of the robot. Once in this mode – you can record noises while moving the arms and head – which the robot will play back for you from the recorded library. When in drone mode (switch on back of computer mind) – you can use an app to control the various limbs and motors of the arm and head/neck – although this did not work optimally for us. The voice activated commands didn’t seem to always respond – even if we spoke loudly and clearly enough – causing us all some frustration – but when it works – the dancing, kung fu, jokes, and exercise preprogrammed responses were a true joy to behold! We have not yet got around to using the rag doll or video mirror image copying mode yet. We did have a lot of fun with it, so far, after the tiresome build. We look forward to hours more fun playing and programming Meccanoid – well above and beyond the time spent building it! Overall, this is an expensive toy, with a lot of time necessary to construct it. I definitely think it was a challenge for my 9 & 11 year old, and wouldn’t have been completed without a lot of my assistance. If your child is into this big of a project and robots – definitely worthwhile as a gift purchase! Carson Fireplace TV Console for TVs up to 65", Cherry and Black received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review. This arrived in a big heavy 3’ cube-shaped box, weighing around 125 lbs. All the parts are wrapped securely, so nothing was damaged. The fireplace insert comes in a separate cardboard box inside, and about 2 dozen wood pieces, along with another box with screws, and other attachment parts. You will need a good phillips screwdriver and hammer of your own to build this over around 4-6 hours, depending upon your skill level. All the parts (including screws & dowels in mini-bags) come nicely marked with stickers so you know what to do at all times based upon the easy-to-follow directions. The only tricky part was the black thin piece of wood that goes over the fireplace top – you have to make sure to have this correct to put it all together properly. Just make sure to lay out all your wood pieces exactly as pictured in the directions for easiest construction – and do it on a carpeted surface so you don’t scratch up the cherry and black laminated wood pieces. You build the Carson Fireplace TV Console upside down, and flip it over when done. The fireplace looks realistic when done and turned on. There is no remote control – only 2 switches. One controls the flame image - it features an LED light source boasting up to 50,000 hours of life. The Second whether you want heat to blow or not. It will heat a 40’x40’ area. It is amazing that the 65” wide Fireplace TV Console came in the box it did – but – each level of the item has 3 pieces that join together to get to full width. The Carson Fireplace TV Console has a left and right side cabinet on the bottom, each with a separate door, and an adjustable shelf – great for storing items. Would’ve been nice for the manufacturer to include some holes or a slit to allow cord access in these areas – but that doesn’t happen. The top shelf of the Carson Fireplace TV Console stores your TV, while the second shelf allows you to insert dvd players, blue ray, vcrs, cable/dish boxes, etc. My stereo receiver didn’t fit as it was too tall (the space is around 4”). Overall – I highly recommend the Carson Fireplace TV Console. Once you get the unwieldly box inside and unpacked – it was fairly easy to construct – with no pieces by themselves too big or cumbersome. It looks great – the console and the fireplace – both!! The heat source is warm, quiet, and comforting as well. For the price point at Walmart – you can’t get a faux fireplace and tv console for twice the price at other stores! |
