Very cool looking razor – silver/chrome mostly with highlights of black and yellow. Mostly metal handle construction with rubber grip accents for a better hold on things. The blade rotate to the left or right about 30 degrees either way to supposedly move to the contours of your face with flex ball technology – although it never moved while I was shaving to my perception. 1 trim blade on the reverse side of the blade and 5 blades on the front blade – supposedly Gillette’s thinnest finest blades ever! Lubrication strips are placed on each side of the blade to supposedly give the smoothest shave ever. Comes with 1 handle and 2 blade cartridges. I’ve shaved with this 4 times already – and all I can say is that I’m not impressed. Refill blades are more costly than my preferred Schick Hydro 5 Sensitive – and the Schick blades also last longer, give a faster and closer shave, and the handle of the vibrating/pulsing handle on my Schick Hydro is superiorly easier to handle than the Gillette – which was way too hard to handle for me – possibly due to my arthritis. Maybe it’ll be better for you – but I’m sticking with my Schick Hydro 5 Sensitive Power Select!

Russell Mens Lowcut 3 Pack Socks (Color: White; Size: One Size) received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review. These white with light grey accents Russell Mens Lowcut socks are very comfortable. They fit sizes 6 to 12, but seem to shrink up a bit after a wash and dry cycle – making them a tad tight for my size 12’s. The manufacturer states that these socks feature Dri-Power 360 and breathable mesh ventilation to help keep feet drier – which did seem to keep my feet nice and cool and never clammy. Russell also states that socks have a compression arch support – which was noticeable upon donning the socks – the arch support was very comfortable on the feet! Russell also states the socks have zone cushioning for shock absorption in key areas of the foot – these areas would be the heel of your foot as well as the ball of the foot – just behind your toes. This padding and cushioning was noticeable to the touch of your hand – and was much appreciated by your feet as well! Sock care instruction states to wash them inside out without chorine bleach in cold water, and they are made of an 89% poly, 9% cotton, 2% spandex fabric. Overall – these are a great pair of socks and I’d highly recommend them – especially for the price ! However – I’d recommend going up to the Big & Tall size socks for those with size 12 feet, like me! available at Walmart - http://www.walmart.com/ip/Russell-Mens-Lowcut-3-Pack-Socks/43938793 Russell Mens Big & Tall 3 Pair Packages Low Cut Socks (Color: BKGBK; Size: 13-15) received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review. These black with light grey accents Russell Mens Lowcut Big & Tall socks are very comfortable. received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review. The Air Hogs Fury Jump Jet R/C Helicopter came well secured in a box, and was easy to remove with cutting a few pieces of tape. The R/C controller takes 4 AA batteries, which insert into the back after pushing in a button on the back to remove the battery compartment door. You then plug the cord attached to the outside of the R/C controller into the bottom of the jet/helicopter and let it charge for around 15 minutes, until the green light goes off on the jet/helicopter, and you are fully charged to fly. Controls are left/right, throttle control, and a button to transform from helicopter to jet mode. Flying is better designed to occur outside as indoors is just too small unless you are in a gymnasium. The helicopter/jet is built of foam and plastic and withstood several crashes. My 9 year old son took to flying this quite well, and it will easily and readily reach at least 50’ into the air and fly at least 50 yards away from you. Start your flight by leaving the Air Hogs Fury Jump Jet R/C Helicopter in helicopter mode set on the ground – then transform to jet mode to really move through the skies. Expect around 30 minutes of use after each recharge. Recommended as Ages 8 and up, and I’ve gotta concur with that! This is a much better toy than the original helicopters that came our years ago – maintaining flight is a lot easier – and you spend a lot more time in the air than trying to launch it. It’s great to be able to use it outside too! Overall – a very good recommendation here for kids 8+! You won’t be disappointed with the ability to get this Air Hogs Fury Jump Jet R/C Helicopter in the air and flying! Air Hogs Star Wars Remote Control X-Wing Starfighter received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review. Unboxing the Air Hogs Star Wars Remote Control X-Wing Starfighter was simple – cut or untie one cord ,and unscrew 2 plastic pieces (about a ¼ turn) on the bottom of the box. The R/C controller takes 6 AA batteries, which are accessible through the battery compartment door with 2 phillips screws. The R/C controller has a left/right controller, and a throttle controller. The box also includes 4 plastic pieces that are the laser guns typical to the X-Wing figher – but are for looks only – and the fine print states DO NOT TRY TO FLY WITH THESE ATTACHED!! The X-Wing Starfighter is mostly made of foam – with some plastic. The charging cord is located in the lower right corner of the top of the R/C controller and attaches to the bottom front of the X-wing fighter. Expect about 15 minutes to charge and around 30 minutes of use. There is a large flashing charging symbol on the top of the R/C controller that stops flashing once you are fully charged. Manufacturer recommendation is ages 10 and up – and my 11 year old did do better with this than my 9 year old. Flights seemed best when the X-wing fighter was tossed like a paper airplane into the wind – although we were only able to successfully fly in straight flights of about 50 yards. Outdoor use only with this toy! A tip/corner of one of the X-wing fighter’s foam wings did break off on us – so we were a bit disappointed it wasn’t more resilient. The propellers are embedded into the wings – which is a unique cool feature of the Air Hogs Star Wars Remote Control X-Wing Starfighter and it really looks like the ones in the movies! Overall – we recommend the Air Hogs Star Wars Remote Control X-Wing Starfighter for ages 10+, especially for those Star Wars fans out there! Pie Face Game received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review. What a fun game for the whole family. I swear this game had it out for me – as I was pied each and every turn I took. But lets back up – assembly is pretty easy – just push 2 handles into the size of the game device, insert the face shield mask with cut out, insert the chin rest, and finally the pie throwing arm (seems like this should have the concave cupped part going towards your face – but it doesn’t, also – the hand differs from the picture on the box). Then – either use the supplied sponge with water soaking it or apply a dab of whipped cream – and you’re ready to play. Each player spins the dial to see how many clicks to take on their turn. If you spin a 3 – click the handles 3 times by rotating the handle, corresponding to the number you just spun on the dial. Hillarity, fun, and laughter will ensue! Guaranteed to take the grump off of any face playing or even watching! My 9 & 11 year old sons couldn’t get enough of this game. Just supply your own whipped cream and you’re ready to play! Fun for just about any age 4 and up!! Overall – I highly recommend this fun family game. It might get tedious after awhile – but you will have fun with it before that. The pie throwing device seemed completely random too – you never know when it’ll go off! The rules of the game state the one who scores 25 points wins (you get 1 point for each click without being pied) but we didn’t play that way Meccano Meccanoid G15 KS Robot received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review. Meccano is just like the old erector sets from the 50’s – 70’s, except all the pieces are not plastic instead of metal. The Meccanoid G15 KS Personal Robot arrived in a box about 1.5’ x 2.5’ and weighing around 16 lbs. The inside of the box is nicely divided into separate compartments and separate bags of pieces, nuts, bolts, and electronics. Unfortunately – none of these bags are numbered like lego does – indicating which bag to open when – and what parts are utilized at different stages of the build. There are approximately 1,200 parts necessary to construct Meccanoid the robot. When finished – it is a great accomplishment – and it stands around 4’ tall. It took me and my 2 sons (off and on at times) over the course of 4 days and a total of around 10 hours to finish the Meccanoid G15 KS Personal Robot. Expect your times to be anywhere from 8-12 hours depending upon your level of constructing expertise and how many times you make errors – necessitating you take apart what you just did – then reconstructing it to get it right. The instructions leave a lot to desire and are downright confusing at times – I highly recommend going to the Meccano website to follow along in the videos for construction assistance during your build. The bolts and nuts are tiny. Some spots are downright impossible to get adult sized fingers into to complete a particular portion of the project. The Meccanoid G15 KS Personal Robot is the larger of the 2 Meccanoid robots, featuring a total of 10 motors and around twice the size of the smaller one. Some of the parts are exactly the same – just different colors – so be careful to keep an eye on that – although it doesn’t matter if you swap color pieces in the end. As other reviewers have stated – the LIM mode is the best functioning aspect of the robot. Once in this mode – you can record noises while moving the arms and head – which the robot will play back for you from the recorded library. When in drone mode (switch on back of computer mind) – you can use an app to control the various limbs and motors of the arm and head/neck – although this did not work optimally for us. The voice activated commands didn’t seem to always respond – even if we spoke loudly and clearly enough – causing us all some frustration – but when it works – the dancing, kung fu, jokes, and exercise preprogrammed responses were a true joy to behold! We have not yet got around to using the rag doll or video mirror image copying mode yet. We did have a lot of fun with it, so far, after the tiresome build. We look forward to hours more fun playing and programming Meccanoid – well above and beyond the time spent building it! Overall, this is an expensive toy, with a lot of time necessary to construct it. I definitely think it was a challenge for my 9 & 11 year old, and wouldn’t have been completed without a lot of my assistance. If your child is into this big of a project and robots – definitely worthwhile as a gift purchase! Carson Fireplace TV Console for TVs up to 65", Cherry and Black received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review. This arrived in a big heavy 3’ cube-shaped box, weighing around 125 lbs. All the parts are wrapped securely, so nothing was damaged. The fireplace insert comes in a separate cardboard box inside, and about 2 dozen wood pieces, along with another box with screws, and other attachment parts. You will need a good phillips screwdriver and hammer of your own to build this over around 4-6 hours, depending upon your skill level. All the parts (including screws & dowels in mini-bags) come nicely marked with stickers so you know what to do at all times based upon the easy-to-follow directions. The only tricky part was the black thin piece of wood that goes over the fireplace top – you have to make sure to have this correct to put it all together properly. Just make sure to lay out all your wood pieces exactly as pictured in the directions for easiest construction – and do it on a carpeted surface so you don’t scratch up the cherry and black laminated wood pieces. You build the Carson Fireplace TV Console upside down, and flip it over when done. The fireplace looks realistic when done and turned on. There is no remote control – only 2 switches. One controls the flame image - it features an LED light source boasting up to 50,000 hours of life. The Second whether you want heat to blow or not. It will heat a 40’x40’ area. It is amazing that the 65” wide Fireplace TV Console came in the box it did – but – each level of the item has 3 pieces that join together to get to full width. The Carson Fireplace TV Console has a left and right side cabinet on the bottom, each with a separate door, and an adjustable shelf – great for storing items. Would’ve been nice for the manufacturer to include some holes or a slit to allow cord access in these areas – but that doesn’t happen. The top shelf of the Carson Fireplace TV Console stores your TV, while the second shelf allows you to insert dvd players, blue ray, vcrs, cable/dish boxes, etc. My stereo receiver didn’t fit as it was too tall (the space is around 4”). Overall – I highly recommend the Carson Fireplace TV Console. Once you get the unwieldly box inside and unpacked – it was fairly easy to construct – with no pieces by themselves too big or cumbersome. It looks great – the console and the fireplace – both!! The heat source is warm, quiet, and comforting as well. For the price point at Walmart – you can’t get a faux fireplace and tv console for twice the price at other stores! received this item for free and for no compensation - just an honest review. Find it at lowes: http://www.lowes.com/pd_539555-74198-1187___?productId=50419980&pl=1&Ntt=1187 The HotelSpa Insta-mount Adjustable 22” Slide Bar Spiral 3-way Combo in Chrome finish allows for 3-way versatility as it utilizes a Shower-Head, a Handheld-Shower, and allows you to select either one of those or BOTH at the same time. Each of the shower sprayers is approximately 4", seem to be made of sturdy plastic-like material, finished in a high polished chrome finish. The hand shower feels great in the hand, with sufficient weight, and ergonomically made! There are no tools required for installation, which should take you less than ½ hour to complete, and no drilling is required either, although instructions could have been a tad better! The HotelSpa Insta-mount Adjustable 22” Slide Bar Spiral 3-way Combo is the ultimate in shower luxury, convenience and versatility, as very few showers feature the patented 3 way diverter that allows each showerhead to be used individually or both together. In addition, this unit utilizes an optional 22” stainless-steel slide bar that mounts to the existing shower arm without tools or drilling, allowing you to position the hand shower in just about any angle and sufficient heights to cover where you want on your body. Be advised, when installing the 22” bar that the push button slide bracket must be installed on the slide bar before the bar is attached to the shower head mount. The bracket for the hand shower is height and angle adjustable. I highly recommend waiting till the last minute to install the gray plastic knob on top of the slide bar to make sure you don’t have to pull it off again. Each of the 2 showerheads has 6 settings and an oversized 4-in spiral design face. The 6 water flow settings vary from: Power Rain, Pulsating Massage, Hydrating Mist, Rain/Massage, Rain/Mist and water saving Economy Rain. Each shower head features rub clean jets (that are rubbery feeling) allowing easy cleaning of clogs from hard water deposits by just rubbing your hand back and forth over. Again, with the 3 zone click lever dial you can choose to only use the showerhead, only use the hand shower, or use both at the same time, giving you more than 30 full and combined water flow patterns! The 5’ stainless-steel hose connecting the hand shower is super flexible, and the conical brass hose nuts are easy to hand tighten due to their textured surface. Included in the HotelSpa Insta-mount Adjustable 22” Slide Bar Spiral 3-way Combo kit are all the washers that you need, and even a small roll of Teflon tape to use on the threaded locations. Overall, we love the HotelSpa Insta-mount Adjustable 22” Slide Bar Spiral 3-way Combo. We are not utilizing the 22” Slide bar as it doesn’t work in our shower unit with the shower caddy mounted on the shower head arm, but, the shower head bracket offers enough positioning adjustability to suit us. This is a great shower unit! pma71025c29ea18daf6ff4daca06d93cd4 received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review.
Comes w 2 hats – one size fits most. These And1 Boys’ Beanies are of a decent size. I would know. I have a big head – think about a 7 ½ size fitted baseball cap – and the And1 Boys’ Beanies still fit me – with plenty of coverage to keep your ears warm – the top ½, the bottom ½, all of them. You can wear them either folded up or unfolded – as indicated in the attached picture. We love the AND1 brand available only at Walmart for a quality product at an even more quality price! The colors on these And1 Boys’ Beanies look great. We received 1 solid gray colored that did have some heathering of the gray tones – will go great with any other color – including our Ohio State Buckeye gear. The other And1 Boys’ Beanie was blue striped, with bits of white and gray stripes. They are super soft, and each has an AND1 logo stitched onto the beanie hat. Overall – we’re pretty impressed with these 2 hats. They will keep you warm and look very stylish, too! received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review.
The Ed Hardy Skulls & Roses for Men Deodorant Body Spray was a surprising hit in our household! Both me and my wife liked the light fragrance. We were both a bit afraid we were going to be gagging based upon the main line of men’s deodorant sprays out there (think ax), but this was not overpowering, was definitely masculine, and smelled fresh and attractive. The deodorizing body spray cools and refreshes with a bold, fresh and energizing scent it keeps up with the guy on the go. The manufacturer claims the fragrance consists of: Bergamot, cardamom and violet combine with lavandin and geranium spiked with ounce onic elements. This might mean something to some people – but I only recognize the term violet. The fragrance is supposed to give the user an extraordinary encounter of strength confidence. I did feel more confident wearing it – as I knew I smelled good! My 2 pre-adolescent sons both liked the fragrance as well – and they will be using it whenever they like on a regular basis! I definitely wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again for them based upon the great price, great fragrance, and great appeal. Overall, we highly recommend Ed Hardy Skulls & Roses for Men Deodorant Body Spray, definitely better than the hatchet job from the main competitor out there! received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review.
Was surprised to see that Walmart is carrying some of the Mon Blanc fragrances. This is high quality stuff – usually only found in your top-end stores for high dollar prices! I’ve been a big fan of the Mont Blanc Legend cologne for men for probably the last 3 years. My wife and I both selected it as a fragrance for myself, which I alternate every other day with another fragrance. The manufacturer claims the scent has fragrance notes of: Bergamot, Pineapple Leaf, Sandalwood and Tonka Bean. The maker claims: depth, modernity and the right amount of discreet mystery… A fresh fern with top notes that are lively, bright and clean; magnetic heart notes with a woody-floral tone; and a dry down with an unforgettable signature of tonka beans and sandalwood. I honestly don’t know what any of those are, except pineapple, and my first thought was that Tonka made trucks – not plants or beans. Regardless, this scent Rocks! My wife loves it and still comments on it after 3 years of wearing it. The 1 oz. size is smaller than you’ll buy most places – but that keeps the price down. You should easily get a month of use from this bottle, which is a really cool black glass bottom, with chrome top, and a heavyweight metal chrome finished cap. I concur that the MB Legend fragrance makes me feel confident and charismatic and it is definitely a masculine fragrance, both modern and timeless, no mistaking this for some of the other ambiguous scents out there for men and women. You also will never be accused of wearing cheap cologne, either! Overall – my wife and I still love Mont Blanc Legend and recommend it to anyone else looking for a timeless men’s fragrance. received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review.
The Monoprice Bluetooth Party Speaker is advertised as both a portable speaker system that can be utilized as either a music source and a PA system with up to 18 watts of power, either through your wall AC power connection – or LARGE rechargeable battery (think power wheel or motorcycle size). Instructions are minimal – and could use some improvement on functionality of the unity – such as how long to charge – and expected life of use. You can pretty much use the Monoprice Bluetooth Party Speaker for any type of audio you want, as it features a USB connection for flash drives or plugging in phones or other audio players. It also has 2 ¼” jacks to plug in microphones, guitars, or other instruments and equipment. The Monoprice Bluetooth Party Speaker also has a set of RCA jack inputs for additional functionality (think cd players, radios, etc.). Surprisingly – there is even a slot to insert your SD card with downloaded music on it! There are 3 separate volume controls (1 for the ¼” jacks, 1 for the memory cards, 1 master control). A squelch control would have been nice for those times when you get feedback from standing too close to the speaker with the mic – but this did not happen for us very much. At around 31 pounds – it is substantial – but – feels to be the perfect weight and is sturdy, while very nice looking. The fit, finish and looks of the speaker are great, and the wheels and extendable luggage handle are very nice touches. There are also handles built into the side to carry it. There is a hole underneath to mount it on a stand if you have one as well. It features an 8" woofer and 1/2" dome tweeter. Sound is appropriately loud, not too bass heavy and easily carried in several social settings we’ve used it in. This is a dual-voltage unit, with a 110/240v switch which is covered by a clear plastic cover that needs to be removed via screwdriver—so there is little chance of an accidental change. There is a remote control included for managing the USB and card slots but playing your music from your Bluetooth mobile device seems a lot easier – although there are no instructions on what the different buttons do. The included microphone has a hefty feel to it and worked fine for us. With the wife and I both playing guitar and singing for church services on a weekly basis – the Monoprice Bluetooth Party Speaker will get used when we need mobile audio!! Overall – we’re impressed with the Monoprice Bluetooth Party Speaker! For small meetings, social events, whatever you need – you’ll be surprised at all the functionality in the Monoprice Bluetooth Party Speaker! Nerf Modulus Strike and Defend Upgrade Kit
received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review. The Nerf line-up just keeps getting cooler. The Nerf Modulus ECS-10 Blaster is one awesome weapon – the best firing elite dart gun Nerf has made – in our humble opinion. One of the major flaws that me and my sons found in the Modulus was the included stock – as it seemed to bend easily and is prone to break. The Nerf Modulus Strike & Defend kit resolves this problem quite easily – with a new blaster stock for steadier shots. It easily clips onto the Modulus Blaster and is very secure. The added ability to also function as a 1 shot blaster was a cool form and functional positive here. This upgrade kit also includes a blast shield that mounts to your rail – and does actually afford a bit of face protection from your opponents looking to blast you in the head. The shield can flip down if it is interfering with your aim. You can see through the shield and the center has a built in sight/crosshairs as well. The upgraded stock adds about 1” in length to your modulus blaster, and it is not a wimpy blaster either – as it takes some effort to pull back and the elite darts come flying out with ferocious velocity comparable (but a bit slower) to that of the modulus blaster itself. No batteries are required here! These pieces are also interchangeable with other Nerf lines of blasters. The Nerf Modulus Strike and Defend Upgrade Kit is definitely worth it – if for no other reason than to replace the faulty/poorly designed O.E.M. stock on the Modulus Blaster. Nerf Rival Apollo XV-700 Blaster, RED received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review. The Nerf line-up just keeps getting cooler. The Nerf Rival Apollo XV-700 is equally impressive when compared to the motorized Zeus version. NO batteries are required – as this is a Spring-action blaster comes with 7 high-impact rounds . The Easy-load magazine holds 7 rounds – which is slightly smaller than the Zeus’ 12 round magazine – which is supposedly not interchangeable between guns (Zeus’ 12 round clip will work in Apollo, but Apollo’s 7 round magazine won’t work in Zeus). The Rival line of Nerf guns are available as red or blue. This Apollo blaster has a trigger lock and a tactical rail for sights or other accessories such as a face shield – however – the functionality of the tactical rail on the Apollo Blaster is somewhat minimized by the fact that the cocking lever sits atop the Apollo Blaster – getting in the way of any sight you might try to utilize. You must pull this lever all the way back then push it forward prior to firing. Why it doesn’t return to the front itself is a mystery to me?!? To my knowledge – this is Nerf’s first use of the new ammunition that looks like really small gumball sized golf balls. Rated ages is 14+ - and let me tell you – this is pretty close to the sting level of getting hit with a paint ball – just no long lasting welt afterwards. The Apollo 7 round magazine is cool in that it allows for speed loading your ammo by just holding the magazine and pushing it down over your ammo 1 at a time. Really quick – really easy. The ammo really flies – with claims of over 100 feet per second and we believe it. It easily flew 100’ as well (and in our basement – it bounced off the opposite wall and had enough power & velocity to bounce and roll all the way back to us). It is no wonder that the Rival face masks were made – I’d hate to get hit in the face with one of these Rival foam balls. In my opinion – the facemasks should come with the gun – they are that vital if you are going to shoot at anyone else. There is NO clearing jam port - unlike the Rival Zeus – Nerf really should have had one here – and this is a major fail as jams are inevitable when using any Nerf gun. The pull on the cocking lever is pretty heavy – again – not for the young’uns. Some others have reported jamming issues with the Apollo – we didn’t have any such issues. Overall – the Nerf Rival Apollo XV-700 is an impressive gun, just wish the magazine clips were interchangeable between the 2 guns and the cocking lever was put on the side of the gun. Just keep the Nerf Rival line out of nerf battles for kids under 14. Nerf N-Strike Mega Series RotoFury Blaster received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review. The Nerf line-up just keeps getting cooler. The Nerf N-Strike Mega Series RotoFury Blaster fires Mega Whistler Darts up to 90 feet, and comes with 10 of the Mega Whistler Darts. The gun is equipped with what Nerf calls Slam-fire action – which allows you to rapidly pump the front forearm handle grip to both load the blaster and rotate the magazine/drum to fire the next round. Loading and firing was both easy and intuitive. Slam-fire mode allows you to hold the trigger constantly – like on an automatic weapon or machine gun – then by loading/pumping the forearm grip back and then forward causing the next dart to chamber and fires without having to pull the trigger anew! Slam-fire does allow you to cycle through your rounds quicker! The mega darts easily flew distances up to 90’. No batteries are required here – so we liked that functionality and it is a huge cost savings in the long run! This blaster is the perfect size for kids 9-12. Reloading the Nerf N-Strike Mega Series RotoFury Blaster is a pain, though. The drum does not rotate out of the receiver, so you have to manually push in the darts (you can get to 8 cylinders), then cycle the action, then load in the remaining two darts. This is a big pain and pretty much makes this a secondary weapon for the Nerf War. This is also a noisy gun – but the noise is necessary as this blaster really fires these mega darts pretty far and accurately! The whistling mega darts are a blast too – and really do whistle while traveling in the air! It does smart when you get hit, but then you should move out of the way, faster, right? Overall – we were impressed with the Nerf N-Strike Mega Series RotoFury Blaster. It was a ton of fun – the slam fire firing mode was a definite positive – just wish some consideration was given for loading the gun – then it’d be perfect! Nerf N-Strike Modulus ECS-10 Blaster
received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review. The Nerf line-up just keeps getting cooler. This ain’t your 70’s, 80’s, or even your 90’s Nerf gun, either! My son had been wanting this since it came to market and was overjoyed once he saw that we received it. The box itself is massive – around 1.5’x2.5’ long. The Nerf N-Strike Modulus ECS Blaster comes with the battery operated main gun and several additional accessories. Nice that you can ‘upgrade’ by purchasing additional pieces too. It only takes 4 AA batteries – so – those are readily available and not too expensive – and were a snap to install. Recommended ages was 8+, and this seemed about right as my 9 year old was able to use it and it fit him well. The 10 elite dart banana clip was nice – but plan on buying additional rounds and clips as with quickfire ability – you cycle through them quickly. The nice thing is if you have other Nerf guns that shoot elite darts – the clips from those guns will very likely fit the Modulus Blaster. Shots easily flew 90’ in distance. Noise was not too loud – but – it’ll give you away if you are hiding. Shooting requires pressing the orange motor button to get it revved up – located in front of the trigger – then pressing the trigger. The motor was quick and you could rapidly cycle though your loaded clip in a few seconds with no large perceptible loss of power or accuracy. This is the most powerful dart sting so far I’ve experienced from a Nerf gun. My son loved the built in carrying handle with rail. The included accessory stock is nice, attaches easily & securely – in that it will store an additional loaded clip in it – but those 2 pencil sized rods are really weak and bend easily. I picture this stock breaking very quickly. The ‘scope’ is more just a sight – no magnification here – just a cool looking and attaches to any rail. The dual rail barrel extension seemed to make the elite darts fly better and certainly looked cool on the Modulus Blaster. The drop front grip added a bunch of coolness factor and was great in your hand – it just didn’t seem to secure very well to the Modulus Blaster – bent easily at the mounting rail – and was a disappointment in the long run as it fell off on moderate play/use. There is a hidden clearing jam port located on the top of the Modulus Blaster – if open – your gun won’t fire – so make sure it’s closed. We look forward to upgrading this and using it in battle. Definitely the best elite dart Nerf gun we’ve come across – just some minor issues (included stock & front grip are weak) that hold this back from being the best it could be! Nerf Rival Zeus MXV-1200 Blaster, Blue received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review. The Nerf line-up just keeps getting cooler. This ain’t your 70’s, 80’s, or even your 90’s Nerf gun, either! To my knowledge – this is Nerf’s first use of the new ammunition that looks like really small gumball sized golf balls. Rated ages is 14+ - and let me tell you – this is pretty close to the sting level of getting hit with a paint ball – just no longlasting welt afterwards. The Rival 12 round magazine is cool in that it allows for speed loading your ammo by just holding the magazine and pushing it down over your ammo 1 at a time. There is a hidden clearing jam port located on the bottom side of the Rival Zeus – if open – your gun won’t fire – so make sure it’s closed. The Rival ammo is shot through the motarized wheels of the Rival Zeus that give the ammo a backwards spin and loft – which propels your tragectories even further – no immediate loss of height on your firing – instead – it lofts for the first 20-40’ then begins to settle down. My biggest grip (besides the sting of getting hit) was that it took 6 C cell batteries. Even buying cheap no-name batteries – that rings you up an additional $7, let alone nobody every keeps C cells around the house – we had to make a special trip to the store to buy some. These 6 batteries add A LOT of weight to the gun too – making it top heavy. The only other issue is the Rival Zeus magazine tube is confusing to load into the Nerf gun. After a night of using it – I still was loading it upside down more times than not. A different color or sticker saying TOP could easily fix that (we will place a sticker or use a sharpie to remedy this issue). To our knowledge – as warned in the directions – the Rival Zeus magazine tubes are not compatible with the Rival Apollo magazine tubes – that just seems like a bad call on Nerf’s part. Cycling though your ammo took longer than expected too. Firing requires depressing the motor button for a second or two to ramp up the speed – then depressing the fire button. After each shot – you have to wait for the motor to get back up to speed before firing again. Included pop up sights were handy and the top front rail allows for installation of additional accessories (sights or other pieces). The Nerf Rival Zeus is definitely not for little kids – but for teenagers! It is powerful – and fun. The motor is loud too – but with that much power – you’d expect that! The trigger lock/safety was a nice safety measure too! |
