Remington SmartEdge Hyper Series Foil Shaver With WETech, XF8550
received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review. I am usually a razor blade shaver with gel, and I shave every day for work – so my expectations might be higher than the ordinary person that is just looking to cut stubble for a good enough shave. I haven’t used an electric shaver for probably about 20 years – and that was an old Norelco 3 rotary head shaver. The Remington SmartEdge Huper Series Foil Shaver with WETech does surprisingly better dry than my last experience with electric shavers. The dry shave was near razor quality – but my lower neck took a severe beating and was irritated for about a full day after from the shave. Battery recharging only took a few hours and Remington boasts several days use without having to recharge and even a quick recharge function if you forgot to recharge in full – to get a quick shave. As a wet shave with foam – I got a noticeably better shave with the Remington SmartEdge Huper Series Foil Shaver with WETech than dry. This was a messy proposition though at the bathroom sink – as the shaver dripped water all over after each rinse under the faucet to clear away the removed shaving cream and cut stubble – again - my lower neck took a severe beating and was irritated for about a full day after from the shave. Shaving wet with the Remington SmartEdge Huper Series Foil Shaver with WETech also took about a third to ½ longer than with a razor blade. The Remington SmartEdge Huper Series Foil Shaver with WETech felt great in my hand – it looked great too with the blue, black, and metal colors. The head did offer some flexion to adjust to get around the angles of your face. My bottom line is – I’ll continue to shave with a razor. The Remington SmartEdge Huper Series Foil Shaver with WETech doesn’t offer a superior shaving performance. However – to knock down 5 o’clock stubble – or to get a quick dry shave when I don’t want to lather up – this is sufficient. Ematic 2-Channel 50W Super Slim Wireless Soundbar with Bluetooth received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review. Upon first viewing this item out of the box – the Ematic 2-Channel 50W Super Slim Wireless Soundbar with Bluetooth lives up to its name and is SUPER SLIM. The back portion of the soundbar has 2 built in screw holders to mount on a wall or elsewhere. The Ematic 2-Channel 50W Super Slim Wireless Soundbar with Bluetooth comes with a tiny remote control to adjust the volume, equalizer, mode, power, and a few directional arrow buttons. Unfortunately – there is nothing more than an led light for a display – so you never know what mode you are in – and you can’t adjust the “equalizer” from movie to tv to music modes with any idea what you are doing. You will get a bit of different sound from each mode – you just can’t control it beyond that. The remote also allows you to advance or backtrack from one song to the next before or after it with the simple push of a button. The remote also doesn’t work any farther than about 5’ away from the soundbar. The remote is powered by a button cell battery (CR 123 – I believe) – the same as in most car key fobs. The Ematic 2-Channel 50W Super Slim Wireless Soundbar with Bluetooth comes w/2 chords about 2’ in length. The first has red & white RCA jacks and the other is a ¼” jack – like what you use for your phone headphones. The second chord has RCA jacks on both ends. I was only able to get the Ematic 2-Channel 50W Super Slim Wireless Soundbar with Bluetooth to work on our living room tv by using the ¼” jack. Sound had to be turned up all the way and was still too faint compared to the regular tv speaker volume. Upon turning the tv up – the Ematic Soundbar did get louder to an adequate volume without any noticeable distortion. However – the sound quality of the Ematic Soundbar has a lot to be desired. Plugging the soundbar into my mp3 player was equally unimpressive as sound was rather drab and uncolorful. The Bluetooth function was fairly easy to get it to pair with my phone as the soundbar automatically seems to search for a device to connect to each time you turn it on – with a beep sound. Sound tone and volume was adequate with my phone – but – I don’t know too many people looking to buy a soundbar that is 3” high, 3” deep, and around 3’ long and required to be plugged in as a Bluetooth speaker. My recommendations for the Ematic Soundbar would be that this is an adequate Soundbar if your tv speakers are either shot or really poor. If you are looking for a high end surround sound hi-fidelity soundbar – you won’t find it here – or anywhere at this price point. The Ematic Soundbar might be better if paired with a subwoofer and a couple of surround sound speakers – but otherwise – it is unimpressive. When figuring in the above stated issues, for the price, the Ematic 2-Channel 50W Super Slim Wireless Soundbar with Bluetooth is about what you’d expect for the price you pay compared to other similar products out on the market.
